The Chinese Embassy and Consulates authenticate documents that are executed in Canada and will be used in China. Type of documents include:
Type A: Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Working Experience and Professional Title, Kinship, Declaration and Affidavit of Financial Support, Marital Status, Marriage & Divorce Certificate, Personal Identification, etc. and documents concerning Adoption or Student's Admission.
Type B: Documents concerning Right of Inheritance, Power of Attorney, Wills and Housing Transfer Declaration, Estates and Properties, Trade Mark Registration.

Your documents
must be in English for authentication. If your
document is in Chinese other than English, please have your Chinese document
translated by a certified translator.

Step 2 Document Notarization | |||||
|
Generally speaking,
All documents must be notarized by a local notary
public, including power of attorney, adoption papers, single
status affidavit, birth/death certificate, marriage certificate,
business license, graduation certificate and transcripts. There
might be exceptions in some cases. If you are not sure
whether your document needs to be notarized, you can send us a
copy of the document by email for confirmation.

Step 3 BC Provincial Authentication | |||||
The next step is to
have your notarized documents authenticated by BC Provincial
Authentication Office. Only documents notarized in BC
can be sent to Ministry of Justice in BC for provincial
authentication.

Step 4 Chinese Consulate Authentication | |||||
After certification by the Provincial Authentication office, your documents can be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate that holds consular jurisdiction over the province where the document is certified,
in our case, Chinese Consulate in Vancouver.
